Here I include all of the horticultural crops. I have a great interest in these crops because they do fit the permaculture design well. They are low maintenance and tend to use vertical space, which allows for a multi-storied cropping system (livestock and/or vegetable) on the ground level.

What to do with the fence along the road? Put it to use! Traditionally fences are a pain to manage, they end up being these weed havens you don't want to deal with. For the past few years I've been working on a system to make these areas an asset.....(more)

On a one acre site the term agroforestry is somewhat laughable but small farm owners need to manage every inch of their property, including the trees.

Having trees means pruning trees. Every spring if people prune their trees they end up with a big pile if twigs they burn green in brush piles. I think there are a few better uses. (My current project)
